Viewing Hidden Comments on MySpace – revisited
Web August 6th, 2006One of the most popular posts here on Geeklimit is the excellent “Viewing hidden comments on MySpace” by Atariboy and therefore I thought it deserved a re-visit.
The process detailled in the previous post involve disabling the CSS stylesheet via the browser menus, but I have found an easier method!
It basically does the same thing, but is actioned from a shortcut which can be placed on the “links bar” in either Internet Explorer or Firefox. I have tested it in Safari but it does not function and would be interested to hear if it works on other browsers too.
Drag the following link to the Links bar in your browser and just click it to disable the CSS stylesheet of the Myspace page you are viewing!
To get the proper Myspace page back, all you will need to do is a refresh. Press F5 on your keyboard or press the relevant “refresh” icon on the browser toolbar.

Wow. I never would have thought of this. This will save me about five hours per day browsing my friends’ pages on myspace.

doesnt work with mine for some reason..
the css is cleared, but the comments are still hidden O_0
maybe because mine is changed so that the profile is in one column and everything under who i’d like to meet is hidden??

Drag the blue text at the end of this comment that says “Clear CSS” to your tool bar and drop it as a button on your tool bar or “links” list if you are using IE.
Alternatively, you can just rightclick the text and select “add to bookmarks” or “add to favorites”.
Anytime you need to clear embeded CSS on a page, simply click the button or bookmark.

It worked. You stripped the embedded CSS from this page an screwed up the layout. Now try it on a different site like your own blog or myspace.

i think im doing this wrong im really confused. i saved the site to my favorites and i went to myspace and then clicked the link in my favorites and it brought me to this website and said what i wrote above. then i refresh it and it still says it. i tried it with multiple myspaces too

Click “Favorites” on your toolbar, find the link, right click, select Properties, and manualy paste the link target in as the URL. I am assuming that IE is adding it as a relative link trailing the address of this page. So you can just fix it yourself.

Just updated the post to make the link more clear – and to get rid of those crappy screenshots!
The link was getting itself confused with our autolinking code…..
Just drag the blue word “clear” to your links bar or right click it, choose copy link location, make a new favorite and then paste the code in.

For some of you who are having problem with Viewing Comments, Viewing Blogs and Viewing Friends; the reason for not getting the correct result was due to the following reason;
1. If a myspace user has no permission or not included in their friends list, you will always get an error. Otherwise if you are approved as a friend originally and never been deleted, you should be able to view anything from that Myspace users’ account.
2. Correct Syntax
http://comments.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.HomeComments&friendID=
3.It doesn’t hurt to login to your Myspace Account before doing anything.

it dosen’t work anymore. the only thing you can view now on private profiles is the friends list. the loophole has been closed until someone else finds out how to open it back up

how do u even view friends list? It wont let me view anything at all on private profiles
